3 Months Foundation Program 2026
This is a 3 month, (12 week) long program launched with a vision and passion to impart a strong foundation in hand & wheel pottery along with letting one explore the creative possibilities in clay. - A Hands on experience with Wheel throwing techniques like, cenetring, opening and pulling
- Make a small bowl / a cup / a vase with the help of the studio assistant.
- We will be Firing and Glazing 1 piece you choose.
- Firing time 4 to 5 weeks
- All necessary materials will be provided.
- Wear comfortable clothing.
- Payment should be made in advance to book the slot
- No Refund will be provided if cancelled within 48 hrs of the slot date
- One time Rescheduling within 15 days is allowed

This beginner’s course is designed for those who have no prior experience working with clay to build a solid foundation in Hand building and wheel throwing. Through this course you will learn fundamental techniques like wedging, centring, pulling, trimming, decorating and glazing. You will also gain core knowledge of the basics of ceramics and clay.

Our intermediate wheel trowing course (Pottery Wheel Lossons) is designed for adults who have completed our Beginner Wheel Throwing course or have equivalent experience (Proficiency in wedging, centering, and confidently throwing a cylinder is required). Building on your foundationalknowledge this course is your opportunity to dive deeper into the world of ceramics and explore the art of wheel throwing in greater depth.

Paint your Pottery Workshop
Included
- Choose from a variety of ceramic blanks (mugs, bowls, vases, plates etc)
- Paint your own design on your chosen pottery using our high-quality materials.
- Leave your creation at the studio for us to fire and glaze to bring it to life.
- We will contact you once your pottery is ready for collection. This usually takes around 2 - 3 weeks.
Dive into a world of color and creativity! Design and paint your own pottery with us. Everything you need to design your own pottery to take home and enjoy or create a unique gift for someone special.
Terms & Conditions
- Pre booking of the slot is mandatory
- You will get 2hrs to create your pieces
- Payment can be made on the day of the workshop after choosing your piece.
- There will be no refund, for any kind of damage to the piece during the workshop or during the firing.( Small cracks tend to occur during the firing).
- All materials will be provided for painting, and should be returned back after the workshop. ( Underglaze for painting, brushes, pencil, eraser, palette and apron)
- The pieces have to picked up from the studio by Hand or via Porter App, we do not provide any deliveries.

This is a 3 month, (12 week) long program launched with a vision and passion to impart a strong foundation in hand & wheel pottery along with letting one explore the creative possibilities in clay. If you are a beginner in ceramics and are looking

Month 1 ( Introduction & Pottery Techniques )
- Introduction to stoneware clay, wedging, ceramic vocabulary
- Hand-building techniques – pinch, coil, and slab
- Introduction to pottery wheel- centering, coning, and pulling cylinder shapes
- Basic surface decoration- textures, carving, colouring, and embellishments
- Create basic wheel forms – cylinders and bowls upto 700g of clay Throwing consistently & altering shapes bowls, vases, narrow/wider shapes, and plates
- Trimming on the wheel
- Exploring complex surface treatment
- Introduction to glazes and glaze application
Month 2
- Altering shapes- bottles, vases, lids/jars,
- Complex pieces using wheel thrown pieces, plates, pourers, casserole’s ,ramen bowls
- Throwing upto 1kg of clay
- Advance throwing- Lidded pots and pitchers
- Trimming complex pieces on the wheel
- Learn about different glazing techniques
- Understanding stains, slip and sgraffito techniques
- Learn about Electric kiln firing
- Loading and unloading of kiln
Month 2
- Altering shapes- bottles, vases, lids/jars,
- Complex pieces using wheel thrown pieces, plates, pourers, casserole’s ,ramen bowls
- Throwing upto 1kg of clay
- Advance throwing- Lidded pots and pitchers
- Trimming complex pieces on the wheel
- Learn about different glazing techniques
- Understanding stains, slip and sgraffito techniques
- Learn about Electric kiln firing
- Loading and unloading of kiln
Month 3
- Work with larger quantities from 1kg to 1.5kg
- Learn to make complex forms like Donut vase, double vase attaching and designing different complex forms to make a unique piece.
- Centering 1.5kg of clay, learn to hump throwing. Making Tea pots, Casserole
- PoP slab making, recycling of clay, studio maintenance
- Building your own designs, and sectional break down of design
- Learn about cones and firing schedules and glaze temperatures. How to operate a kiln. Complete your collection of 20 pieces.
Payment
- The pricing mentioned is applicable per person.
- For booking the course 50% payments for the retreat
should be made in advance. - Balance 50% should be made 15 days before the course
starts. - Bringing a friend along? Enjoy 10% off together!
- The Retreat Fee includes, mentorship, Open studio, all materials, firing charges for 20 pieces and other activities
- The Course runs for 12 weeks. with one-week break for Onam and Christmas, making it 13 weeks in total.

Refund Policy
1. Refund Policy
a. Full refund: If cancellation is made at least 4 weeks prior to the course start date.
b. Refund of 50%: If cancellation is made 3 weeks prior to course start date.
c. No refund: If cancellation is made 2 weeks prior to course start date.
All the refunds will be processed within 15 working days from the day of cancellation.
2. Transfer Policy
Transfer to an alternative class date is possible, depending on the availability slots.
You will need to cancel the registration for the existing program (Cancellation and refund policy will apply if reschedule is made within 2 weeks of course date) and re-register for the new program.
3. Studio Closure
Soil to Soul Ceramics reserves the right to cancel or change the schedule
of classes. The participant will receive a full refund in the event
of cancellation of the program.
